Childhood connected

Lauren Rosen, Ed.S, NCSP

Educational & Family Consultant

Did you know that a positive connection with a caring adult has the potential to transform the life of a child? As a School Psychologist for almost 15 years, and mother of three, I truly understand the challenges of educating and raising children in today’s society. Our children and school communities are not immune to the turbulence of life, however we can teach resilience by cultivating connection. If you’re looking for support with the mental health and wellness of your school community, or guidance for your own family, you’ve come to the right place.

My vast experience as a School Psychologist and Educational Specialist place me in a unique position to advocate for children, while also understanding the contexts of the education system. My experiences range from being the School Psychologist for a private language immersion school in New York City, to a sprawling suburban campus in northern NJ, to an urban school for children with complex special needs. Working as a school psychologist in these settings has equipped me with the tools to problem solve alongside administrators, educators, and families - and be that connection our children need.

Experience & Training

Lauren Rosen has been a School Psychologist since 2008, working in diverse educational settings in NYC and NJ. In 2021, she began working independently, to provide a much needed connection between families and schools in her local community. She began speaking to groups on psychoeducational topics, particularly during the pandemic, and found a need for more mental health support for schools & families. Lauren consults throughout the Northern NJ and NYC area on a regular basis.

Previously, Lauren was a School Psychologist at Avenues: The World School, a private language immersion school in NYC with campuses throughout the world. She worked with students from grades 3-8, acted as a key member of the Student Success Team, and played an integral role in both classroom and family interventions. From 2012-2016, she held the same title at the Dwight-Englewood School in NJ, and from 2008-2012 at The Cooke Center for Learning and Development. Having attended Fordham University for her graduate training, she was able to immerse herself in diverse urban settings and was mentored by some of the most influential psychologists in her field.

“Lauren remains one of the most dynamic school psychologists I’ve ever worked with. We turn to each other for advice often, and hers to me is immeasurable. Kids love her, and want to spend time in her office. She is an asset to any school or family that is lucky enough to snag her.” -Psychologist/Colleague

“Lauren worked with my son in 4th grade, during a time of high anxiety. He couldn’t stay in his classroom because he would become overwhelmed and tearful. Lauren equipped him with coping mechanisms, alongside working with his teachers to understand him. He was able to internalize the strategies, and had a fantastic end to 4th grade. She was instrumental to our family.” -Parent, Avenues: The World School

“As an educator for over two decades, I can confidently recommend Lauren Rosen to support your child and family through any issue. I have collaborated with Lauren on a wide range of issues students have struggled with over the years, including those of the most sensitive nature. The wisdom and support she proves is top notch. Additionally, her exceptional kindness and strong communication skills make her a joy to work with. I’d call Lauren Rosen in a heartbeat to help me navigate any issue professionally, or with my own children. ” -Ali Snell, Educator
